Space Exploration, an integrated architecture and interior design firm in Brooklyn, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to facilitate several new and ongoing projects. Space Exploration is a design-driven company that specializes in responsive detailing adaptive reuse projects infused with warmth, character and modern flourishes. The Project Manager works closely with the Space Exploration design team to ensure our largest and most complex projects run smoothly given their impeccable organizational skills and high sensitivity to budget. and on schedule. The role of the project manager is technically focused, hands-on, and customer-oriented. Duties include managing all aspects of consultant and vendor coordination, creating and managing schedules and budgets, tracking submissions, managing RFI responses and SK logs, and contributing to conversations on design ideation and space planning. The Project Manager reports to the Director and communicates regularly with senior design staff.
The successful candidate must have at least four years of design and coordination experience. Agile design skills and a solid background in construction administration are essential. Fluency (or at least familiarity) with code compliance as well as a comfortable understanding of the New York-based AHJ landscape is important. License is a plus. Candidates who possess significant experience with complex projects will be given preference for this position.
