Light year is just over a week away, and today Dolby released its exclusive poster for the film. It is the first theatrical release only of a Pixar film since 2020, after Soul, Lucaand turn red all debuted on Disney+ instead. Disney and Pixar are both expecting huge things from this movie, and admittedly, it looks really good. Tickets for the film are on sale now, including for the Dolby screenings, which you can check out at here. Check out the simple yet cool poster below.
Lightyear is a perfect summer outing
“The sci-fi action-adventure features the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear – the hero who inspired the toy – introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans. Chris Evans (“Knives Out”, “Avengers: Endgame”) lends his voice to Buzz. “The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never thought of it so much in my life,” Evans says. “Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe I’m part of the Pixar family and working with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories like no one else. Watching them work is magic. I pinch myself every day.” Annie-winning director and veteran Pixar animator Angus MacLane, who co-directed 2016’s “Finding Dory,” helms “Lightyear.” Galyn Susman (short “Toy Story That Time Forgot”) product.”
Pixar making a space exploration movie is endlessly interesting, and it’s a pretty natural way to do it while tying it to toy story. When it was announced at Disney’s Investor Day presentation last year, many scratched their heads, but as each trailer is released, more and more people are excited. While there’s some talk about why this got a theatrical release and not their last three movies, it still looks like a great summer theater movie, and it opens next Friday.
