IIFS 2021 celebrates creativity, science, technology and innovation

“Therefore, it is necessary to celebrate the Science Festival in every city and village of India to inspire young people to think critically,” he said during a curtain raiser ahead of the seventh edition. of the India International Science Festival (IISF-2021) to be held in Panaji from December 10 to 13.

The Minister said that the IIFS will provide a platform for young students, scientists and technocrats from all over India for the exchange of knowledge and ideas and will also support flagship programs such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Swasth Bharat Abhiyan , Make in India, Digital India, Smart Villages, Smart Cities, Namami Gange, Unnath Bharat Abhiyan initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past seven years.

He said that the main goal of the Science Festival is to implement the innovations of the people and develop affordable technology for the masses.

The IIFS is a joint program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Earth Sciences and the NGO Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), working for the popularization of science. The first edition of the IIWB was held in 2015. The main goal of the IIWB is to celebrate science with people in India and across the world.

Earth Science Secretary Dr M. Ravichandran Atomic Energy Secretary KN Vyas CSIR CEO Shekhar Mande Vijnana Bharati President Dr Vijay Bhatkar and scientists and officials high level joined the program.

The film festival is said to be held in a hybrid fashion and the government is trying to set a world record.

The four days of the festival would include a science film festival to promote science popularization among citizens and aims to attract talented young directors and science enthusiasts, a science literature festival, an engineering student festival, a village festival, a festival of traditional crafts and artisans, attempts to create Guinness World Records, products of the Games and Toys Festival, the world meeting of Indian scientists and technocrats, the eco-festival, the New Age technology and the meeting of national social organizations and institutions.

This program will be organized with the active support of Vibha Vani India, a national consortium of grassroots development organizations and scientific institutions. Emphasis would be placed on identifying and presenting development models that will contribute to improved livelihoods through entrepreneurship and technology and self-reliant community development.
