(KNSI) – Eastbound Highway 10 between Motley and Little Falls has reopened after being closed in both directions due to flooding.
Local authorities ask people to always avoid the area.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol said westbound lanes of the freeway will remain closed until further notice and traffic should seek alternate routes. The MnDOT says additional state, county, township or city roads may be closed due to flooding in the area. They say drivers should be alert, give themselves extra time to get around and expect changes in open and closed roads.
The Randall area received 12 inches of rain Thursday and Friday.
An alternate route for Highway 10 East/West travelers:
Highway 10 Westbound: Highway 371 Little Falls to Highway 210 Brainerd/Baxter to Highway 10 Motley.
Travelers from Little Falls to Randall use Highway 115 to/from Highway 371 at Camp Ripley, Little Falls.
Travelers heading to Detroit Lakes or Moorhead should consider Interstate 94.

When a road is closed, it is forbidden to go there. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. Additionally, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other fees and penalties will apply.
