Are we really alone?

It also stems from the ancient existence of our universe, since; it is about 13.7 billion years old. The universe is infinite, so there are an infinite number of planets, galaxies, stars, and even black holes. The fact that we are all alone in this infinite whole seems both menacing and confusing. And in the same way, the existence of extraterrestrials also seems threatening. There can be several possible reasons why humans have never had contact with any extraterrestrial life forms. There have been several theories, but among them, a few have popularity among the common people. I want to mention a few. One of these theories is that the extraterrestrial life living in the other part of the universe is a very advanced life form that has had access to many energy sources and is able to harness their energy and does not doesn’t have enough time to visit a planet with a primitive life form that can’t fully harness the energy of its own planet.

This is the most common and frequently asked question in physics and astronomy: Are we really alone in this whole universe? Are humans the only intelligent species in the entire cosmos? Do aliens really exist? Is there anything beyond our reach and imagination?

Well, this question has been under discussion for a very long time. The first speculation about what we would call “extraterrestrials” can be traced back to the atomic speculations popular among the Epicurean philosophers of ancient Greece and their Roman followers. Since then, it has been one of the most common questions in science and the cosmos. Many conspiracy theories have also emerged related to the mentioned topic. The entirety of the universe is infinite, as are the possibilities of the existence of extraterrestrial beings. According to NASA, there are billions of stars and trillions of planets in the Milky Way galaxy alone. NASA has discovered many planets in the cosmos that may possibly be suitable for the survival of a carbon-based being. But not all of these planets have the right location. Most of these planets are located outside the Goldilocks zone. After all these discoveries, humans have still not succeeded in detecting an alien species, but the search is still going on…
The possibility of the existence of extraterrestrials stems from the concept of the infinite universe or perhaps the existence of multiverse or parallel universes. Another popular theory is that most extraterrestrial life in the entire universe encountered a devastating apocalypse that destroyed all of their races and humans are next. As a believer in Islam myself, I believe in Doomsday or also known as Judgment Day in which all life forms in this universe will be eradicated. So this theory also has the potential to be true. Another famous theory is that aliens have already visited Earth in the ancient period and left Earth to explore other parts of the universe. According to this theory, it also seems that they might not visit Earth for a very long period of time because it takes light years to travel through the universe. Their visit could also explain the construction of the Great Pyramids of Giza which seems mysterious due to their geographical, geometrical and astronomical precision. According to various astronomers and scientists, the three pyramids represent the three stars of Orion’s belt, the Sphinx corresponds to the constellation Leo, and the Nile corresponds to the Milky Way. This looks quite advanced for a human from the ancient Egyptian era and could be the work of a different, highly advanced species. Another famous theory is that humans search for extraterrestrial life through the wrong means. Astronomers and scientists search for life throughout the universe by looking for suitable conditions for survival such as water, oxygen, and presence in the goldilocks zone. But what if alien species don’t need such conditions to survive? And if they are not carbon-based.
There have been multiple speculations on this subject and Islam also has a say. The Holy Quran, perhaps, alludes to the existence of extraterrestrial life several times. In surah we read every day – Surah Al-Fatiha, Allah (SWT) says:
“All praise is to Allah, Lord of all the worlds”
Allah emphasizes that He is Lord of all the worlds, perhaps referring to worlds as planets, universes or dimensions. “Aalam” – the word used here to refer to the worlds – can refer to an entire world or an entire people. Classical scholars obviously understood that “aalam” meant people, animals, jinns, angels, etc., but Allah, from the very beginning, says here that we are not alone.
There have been several speculations in the Quran besides this one, but this is the one I wanted to mention because it emphasizes the issue and leaves us with ambiguity to interpret (not that we can conclude what we want but as much as a human being can think of staying in line with faith and taqwa).
