Anurag Kashyap, one of the most original voices among contemporary directors, is said to be remaking a foreign language film, for his next Bollywood adventure. In her sub-production, Dobaraa Kashyap makes a remake of a Spanish film. His first attempt at adaptation from foreign sources.
The original Spanish film Mirage directed by Oriol Paulo is a time travel drama about a young mother trying to extract a girl from the past. The film is available on Netflix.
According to sources, one of the film’s producers jointly bought the remake rights to three Spanish films by Oriol Paulo. One of them, The Invisible Guest, was remade in Hindi as Badlaa and starred Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan, playing a deadly game against each other. Dobaraa is therefore the second remake of an Oriol Paulo film by Ms. Pannu. The third titled The Body was remade with Rishi Kapoor in mind two years ago.
