NASA shares audio that represents all galaxies in space

Although sound does not travel through space, NASA shared an audio interpretation of images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope using data sonication to transform space images into sound.

Sonication offers a new way to experience and conceptualize data.

“What you heard is a representation of all the galaxies in this ultra-deep field photo, played out as sound,” NASA wrote on the post.

Scientists have used the Hubble Telescope to observe some of the most distant stars and galaxies to date, as well as the planets in our solar system. Hubble has made more than 1.4 million observations in its lifetime, according to NASA.

The telescope saw a comet collide with Jupiter, discovered moons around Pluto, and tracked objects flying around the solar system.

During its 30 years of activity, Hubble has deepened our knowledge of the cosmos.

NASA released the sonification after the Juno spacecraft captured images of Jupiter and its moon Ganymede a week before. It was the closest spacecraft to the Moon for over two decades.

The team has concocted an animation to detail the wonders of space exploration.
